Product Description: Sequoia is inspired by the coastal redwoods that thrive in a narrow region along the pacific coastline. The trees are towering giants, yet grow from a tiny seed inside a pinecone the size of the one that rests as Sequoia's hat. He is carved from cherry wood and painted to allow some of the natural wood grain to show through. His pinecone hat is etched with wood burning details to mimic the 3D aspect of the cone found in nature. Face, hands and feet are left unpainted and polished with beeswax to show the beauty of the cherry wood.

Handmade in California Every item is handmade in our small shop and is as unique as the fingerprints holding it. The inspiration for each product has been born from seeing what captivates the little souls in my life. While I create the design with those concepts in mind, the wood has a story of its own to share. Although every figure is modeled after the same template, each one has a unique grain pattern and develops a personality and distinct characteristics as it evolves through the process of being cut, carved, sanded, and painted. These variations are expected and valued as part of the nature of handmade toys and we hope that you enjoy playing with your art!
